Both Radios : Asus RT-N12, Hardware revision : D1, Firmware : Factory 126.96.36.199.374_168
Environment : 12x60 trailer house ( Yes, I'm a trailer trash redneck ) : Radios spaced by 30 feet. Both antennas strait out, pointing vertical.
Radio #1 AP mode, IP address static 192.168.1.111 connected by CAT5 cable to laptop. Laptop Windows XP, IP = 192.168.22.23
Radio #2 Repeater mode, IP address DHCP 192.168.22.x connected by CAT5 to Server. Server = Windows XP, IP = 192.168.22.177
Radio #1 in different subnet indicates layer 2 connectivity from LAN to LAN.
Radio #1 locked in 40 Mbps mode, 802.11N Only. All other RF options default. ( the few there are )
Testing bandwidth with software jperf version 2.0.2 from laptop to server.

Test #2 : 16 TCP streams, 10 seconds. Bandwidth = 81.9 Mbps, peak 86 Mbps
Test #3 : 38 TCP streams, 10 seconds. Bandwidth = 87.4 Mbps, peak 93 Mbps
Test #4 : 38 TCP streams, 10 seconds. Bandwidth = 89 Mbps, peak 93 Mbps
Test #5 : 60 TCP streams, 10 seconds. Bandwidth = 90.9 Mbps, peak 94 Mbps. ( Hitting limit of TCP protocol and CAT5 100 Mbps wired connection )
Test #6 : Single Stream TCP, 10 seconds. Bandwidth = 22.9 Mbps, peak 26.6 Mbps
Tomato and DD-WRT tests results to follow.
Tomato Shibby 1.21 MiniIPV6
Both radios :
Mode = WDS, link with other RF MAC.
TX Power 15 mW. RF RSSI -46 dBm each link to other radio.
1 TCP Stream = 16.8 Mbps
1 TCP = 18.2 Mbps
16 Streams = 22.3 and 22.4 Mbps
38 Streams = 22.7 and 22.8
60 Streams = 23.5 and 23.4
TX Power change to 30 and then 85 mW. No change in RSSI.
Bandwidth tests on par with 15 mW setting.
Activated WPA Personal AES Encryption.
Bandwidth tests no improvement.
