Right now I have a 3 VLANs (vpn, no-vpn, guest wifi). The no-vpn VLAN has a single port assigned to it on the router, but I recently moved the router for better wifi signal and the cat6 cable doesn't reach to the router for that port (it reaches a switch in my cabinet that is connected to the router).
What I'd like to do is assign a certain MAC address on my network to the no-vpn VLAN, regardless of what physical port it is connected to on the router. Is there some way to do that? I already have that MAC assigned to a certain IP 192.168.2.2 (no-vpn is 192.168.2.0/24), but if I don't have that computer connected to the assigned no-vpn physical port, using 192.168.2.2 as my IP on that machine doesn't work.
Is this possible or should I just buy a longer cat6 cable?
