I have 2 Asus RT-N16 routers. One is a DHCP router and far, far away is the other, used as a wired and wireless AP.
I only care about Gb ports for the wired network and N speed for the wireless clients.
I don't care about VPN, USB, VLAN etc.
I would like to run the smallest, most stable version of Tomato for RT-N16.
From my reading, people tend to go with Toastman or Shibby.
It would be great if there was a drop-down for the model router and some check boxes for the features you want and then only the compatible versions would be filtered… alas… this is not available.
Looking at Toastman's downloads, I see tomato-K26-1.28.7505.2MIPSR2Toastman-RT-Tiny.trx in the STD directory which should be the SMALLEST without USB support.
Do I need the K26USB version because the router is a USB router?
Or is the USB optional?
Will the non-USB (K26) version install on the RT-N16 and simply disable USB support?
If Shibby's has a bare-bones stable version that is more stable than Toastman, can someone point me to the version that would best fit my requirements?
Thanks for your assistance.
