Hello folks, Tomato newbie here!
As per the subject, I'd like to configure a Tomato Shibby router (a Buffalo WHR-G54S) with two separate IP subnets on the same physical interface (or bridge of interfaces, without using VLANs)
I have a /29 of public IP space, and a /25 of private IPs for NAT, and I'd like them to co-exist on the same network segment. I can create the bridge alias on the Tomato router with something like this:
ifconfig br0:1 172.16.0.8 netmask 255.255.255.248 up
This creates the virtual network, but it's not routed by Tomato, nor can I get dnsmasq's DHCP server to issue leases on it.
Ideally, I'd like to do this in the most maintainable way, so regular Tomato config is preferable to custom scripts in the web interface, and both are preferable to tweaking the underlying Linux subsystem over SSH. However, I'm happy to consider any solution that will make it work.
I've got a pretty strong IP networking and Linux background, but Tomato is new to me, as is dnsmasq so I'm a bit stumped as to how to proceed here.
Thanks in advance!
