I hope someone can help. I recently got my old WL 500g running Tomato out to look at options for getting non Wif-Fi devices onto my network without trailing Ethernet cables across the floor to my main router (I'll go into more details of what I actually want to achieve once i've solved the problem in this thread).
I had it working was able to get into the web interface on my pc at 192.168.1.1. Not really understanding this technology to any great extent, but confident I could get back to working settings, I experimented with various options, but have now hit a wall as I can no longer access the router at that IP address. Wif-Fi devices can still see the SSID, but can connect to it. Devices connected via Ethernet like my TV and PVR report that they are not connected to a network.
As far as I can remember the last things I changed, was the Wireless mode to Access Point+WDS, automatic (or something like that?) MAC address and security to WPA Personal. It crashed during save or restart, and I haven't been able to get into it since. Have tried resetting it, unplugging it etc.
