Earlier this year I bought a Belkin N300 (the one with only one USB port and no gigabit) and installed a shibby build on it successfully. Have had no problems so far.
I now have a google chromecast which doesn't like 5GHz so I'd like to set up separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs.
I'm new at this but I was able to create another vlan and name it and all that but unlike the default vlan i use primarily (on 2.4GHz, G-only), I'm unable to set what band this secondary vlan uses. I'm away from the router right now so I can't check, but I believe I was able to set the security it uses and which subnet it uses (I'd like it to be the same as the primary 2.4GHz subnet so that all devices can talk to each other no matter which SSID/band they're connected to).
Can someone help me set this new vlan to 5GHz? Is it even possible? I don't wanna set my primary ssid to mixed mode as that is what causes problems in chromecast (as well as some other devices) and I assume that with my current setup, setting the band on the primary ssid will set it for all others.
thanks in advance
