Hello folks,
I have just received and setup a FlashRouters tomatousb-flashed Asus RT-N66U router, and so far am very happy with the performance.
A couple hours ago, I attached a 1TB external Seagate drive to it, which shows up as mounted to /tmp/mnt/Seagate_Expansion_Drive. I have no idea how to proceed from here - the drive is not visible in my network places or anywhere in explorer for that matter.
I found only (can't post links as new user) the [thissite'surl]/tut:how-to-set-up-nas-optware-etc-for-total-noobs#2 on this site - but I refuse to believe that mounting a simple hard drive should require following over 100 instructions and going through Linux.
Could anyone please clarify whether I do indeed need to become a linux geek just to mount this drive as network attached, or if there is an easier way? Don't get me wrong, I am not a noob to computers - I but I do only have programming and limited networking experience, no linux/hardcore experience.
Please shine some light on it - my entire sunday is gone just trying to connect a bloody drive, and I'm starting to curse myself for going with a Tomato router vs. Asus' stock firmware - which seems to be a 5 click solution to drive mounting.
Thank you in advance for your help!
