The current version of UDPXY in the Tomato builds that integrate it is pretty old - and lacking several improvements.
In my case, I'm missing the stricter standards compliance that would enable me to use it with VDR's IPTV plugin - if I use the self-compiled-latest version on an ubuntu server, VDR IPTV works. If I use the Tomato built-in version, no luck. VLC as a client works OK on both versions as it's much more tolerant and interprets the malformed stream correctly.
