Hi,
I have a WL-520GU router that I've been running Tomato on for years and has run flawlessly. I just moved into a new apartment, purchased a brand new Motorola SURFboard SB6141 modem for my Time Warner Cable subscription. I'm having some weird issues with my router and I'm completely stumped. Hoping someone can help out.
I'm either getting "Limited Connectivity" with a "Renewing…" message under the DHCP settings, or if I AM able to connect I'm getting EXTREMELY slow speeds - around .2mbps (point 2) down. When I plug directly into my modem, I'm able to get high speed internet at 20mbps (what I'm paying for).
At my last apartment I was renting a modem that I had to bridge, so I thought maybe I put a setting into Tomato to play nicely with that and couldn't remember. Therefore, I just downloaded the latest firmware on Tomato's site for the WL-520GU and did a nvram reset, just to be safe. Before I did that, I was getting "Limited Connection" even when I plugged directly into the ROUTER . After that, I'm able to plug into the router and get normal speeds, however wireless is still giving me the same issues.
Is there anything I'm missing here? It's driving me crazy! Thanks for the help!
