I maintain the Wifi network at a campground. We are using Open-Mesh WiFi to supply internet to all our users. There is only WiFi on the network . I have problems with some users hogging the network but I have heard that using download/upload limits per user on the Open-Mesh dashboard portal slows the whole network down by the overhead of packet rejection. I was hoping that I could put a Tomato based router between DSL modem and the gateway Open-Mesh radio and use QOS. Is this feasible? DSL speeds at best are 8Mbs/512Kps download/upload.

It is tricky, but SSID2 would be your only other option as it would be able to pass that connect to Tomato's DHCP/NAT via bridge and then you can adjust accordingly via QOS. It just depends on what you're using the secondary SSID for (or if you are even utilizing it). But that would be the only way I can think of.
