I've an E3000 Linksys with Tomato Shibby. it has attached a harddisk for Transmission. I'm planning to buy an Asus RT-N66 and install Shibby AIO on it and continue using the harddisk. Do I have to install Optware and all the other stuff to make Transmission work again?
Did you have issues with Shibby's built in transmission before?
Shibby's should work out of the box, just need to give it the settings you want in the web gui.
Depending on when the last time Shibby compiled his firmware, he may not have the latest version of transmission.
Even optware/entware doesn't always have the latest.
BTW, if you haven't checked out entware, it is much better and up to date compared to optware.
I have some static binaries of the latest transmission hosted at my site, and plan to keep it up to date as they are released.
