I am having my doubts about Shibby firmware. I have had some snags with Asus routers lately. All were with new Asus N-12 models. One with firmware .104 shows the wrong IP address for the gateway. It works, but the displayed info is wrong. This persisted after several firmware and hardware resets and re-programming. Today I installed another new N-12 with V. 101. It had been freshly reset and programmed. I have the LAN DHCP server starting at .30 and going to .225, but the first address it gave to my computer was .13 and it shows up in devices as .13
I restarted the router, released and renewed the IP and got .13 again.
In yet a third install from a couple of months ago I programmed the remote management port for 8999 instead of 8080. When I enable DMZ it forwards 8999 to the DMZ machine instead of the router listening to 8999 for inbound remote management. I'm thinking about dusting off an old version of VicTec to double check some of this shit to see if Shibby is getting buggy.
There have been some other known bugs being discussed in versions after .105, so I have not messed with anything newer than 104. Maybe if I get off my lazy ass and send him some money he will start watching what he is doing. As soon as he gets that "What version of software are you running ?" bullshit back out of the firmware, maybe I will.
