I am trying to install Optware with tomatousb using a site (please google the following: "How to set up NAS and Optware on Tomato FOR TOTAL NOOBS"). Please see, 'Set Tomato to work with your drive". "Now, how do I enter these commands into telnet? For example, how do I enter the following:
vi /etc/fstab
i
I ask because I try to enter one line at a time, but the "i" does not seem to be processing. What does it do? I also tried to copy and paste with putty, but the telnet screen looks the same without the "i". I know this guide is suppose to be "noob-friendly" but I am generally new to telnet. So, is there a way to enter two-lines at a time locally without sending the lines to the server? For example, is there a way to begin a "blank line" and is there another command to "send" to server?
May someone make clear the instructions, please?
