I need a simple router acting as an Access point, for external usage. This will not be my main wireless access. But when I exit my apartment I need some wireless access on the park outside the door and I need an boosting antenna for that.
I had a Linksys WRT54gl, and it worked like a clock, but upgraded as i upgraded to higher speed internet.
Then there is the Asus RT-N1x-series that could be good too!
One external antenna for each on the router/ap?
Suggestions of which type
Nr of antennas
I guess that for a WRT54gl I need a "2-port" antenna? right?
For the RT-N10 I would only need a "1-port" antenna?
And the same goes for the N12 and N16?
I will most likely need a "flat" antenna to boost the access in a 180 deg ?
should i go for a "panel", or a "sector"?
How about the speed?
I don't need more than 20Mbit download, and 5-10Mbit upload
Will the RT-N10 be enough? or should I go on the proven stable WRT54gl?
Which of the four works with IPv6?
(With Tomato USB)
I know that the WRT54gl is awesome when it comes to stable hardware, and performance.
How are the Asus equivalents?
