I am running Tomato Firmware v1.28.7633 .3-Toastman-VLAN-IPT-ND ND VPN on a Linksys WRT54G-TM.
I have a XP machine that is trying to connect to a L2TP server hosted with hidemynet
I have the added the connection to windows correctly but when I try and connect it fails. The support staff at hidemynet.com seem to think it's cause tomato doesn't support VPN passthough.
They point me to this
polarcloud /tomatofaq#where_are_those_vpn_passthroug
Where are those VPN passthrough options commonly found in Linksys-based firmware?[toc, link]
These options are not supported in Tomato. They are actually labeled a little bit incorrectly in Linksys' firmware: When disabled, ports are blocked. When enabled, they did nothing.
I just can't believe that tomato doesn't support VPN passthrough. Is there something I have to do to manually allow the client on my LAN to connect to the VPN servers of hidemynet.com?
I have been searching the net but just can't find anything about this. I only find info pertaining to using the router as a VPN client or server.
The hidemynet staff tells me that I should switch to ddwrt and that would solve the issue.
I would appreciate any guidance on getting this working with my current tomato fw.
