As the title states, I've got an ASUS RT-N16 with the 26 kernel installed. It's up and working as expected. Now trying to connect a WRT54GS v1.1 with the 24 kernel installed. I've got both routers setup properly but can't seem to get them to talk to each other. Anyone have a reason why this won't work?
I figured out my issue with this. I was using a mix/match of physical vs. wireless MAC addresses for the WDS setup. Once I verified and input the correct wireless MAC addresses, now all is well.
But now that I have my network up and running again, I notice that I can't use Windows RDC behind my router (i.e. between two machines on same subnet) to connect to my HTPC. Is there something I'm missing here that would prevent this connection from working. It worked flawlessly when using the original Tomato firmware on a WRT54GS.
This is my setup:
Router ——> ASUS RT-N16 using Tomato Firmware v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta K26 USB Ext
Laptop —-> wireless connection to ASUS router (IP 192.168.1.120)
HTPC -> wired connection to ASUS router.(IP 192.168.1.140)
Trying to use the Laptop to connect to the HTPC via Windows Remote Desktop Connection.
