I'm running Tomato Firmware v1.28.8754 ND USB vpn3.6 on ASUS WL520GU, historically with Windows machines. I also mount USB sticks or (NTFS-formatted) hard drives as network shares as needed. Windows machines see those shares just fine.
Recently I added a macbook pro (running OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion) to my network. I am experiencing two issues:
1. Typically, the Mac shows all available shares (i.e. the machinename) in the Finder. This isn't always the case - sometimes I see it, sometimes not. At the same time, Windows machine reads the share just fine.
2. Even when the Mac sees the router in the Finder, it cannot read it, and it doesn't give any additional details as to why (just "Connection Failed")
My settings for USB and NAS are: (just the checked items)
core USB support
USB 2.0 support
USB Printer support
bidirectional copying
USB Storage support
file systems support Ext2/ext3, NTFS, FAT
automount
File sharing:
Enable file sharing: Yes, no authentication (also tried with authentication, no difference in outcome)
Auto-share all USB partitions (read/write)
options: Master browser, WINS server
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
