I'm looking for a dedicated Tomato router for the specific purpose of running OpenVPN client (not server). This will be a secondary router and really only be providing VPN service for those devices (2-3 devices, each connected via ethernet) behind the VPN router. DHCP, Firewall, etc. is all handled via the primary router.
Stability is my primary concern, and my secondary would be be throughput. Right now, running Tomato/OpenVPN client on my WRT310N (v1), I only get about 10-15Mbps up/down. When I'm connected to the same VPN service via a computer directly running an OpenVPN client, I'm getting 40-50+Mbps. So, I'm wondering, would the ASUS RT-N16 suit my needs?
