Being a long time WRT54G running DD-WRT, I took the plunge on Black Monday, and hit NewEgg up for an ASUS RT-N66U. This weekend I had an opportunity to work it into my topography, and dumped the ASUS OEM code for ShippyTomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-104 K26 USB AIO-64K.
Man what a sweet setup! I can't believe the leap from my experience with the WRT54G.
I dumped the WRT54G around a year ago, when I subjected myself to ATTuverse. I hated the 2wire gateway, and I'm glad I didn't bother using the WRT54G again, as it motivated me to buy "The Dark Knight"
I've been geeking on it today, with glee. But I need some advice. Seems like people are opting using the usb port to support a 3g usb device.
I already own service on a Verizon MIFI 4g device. I would like to keep my original WAN setup to uverse, but perhaps create a Virtual Wireless Interface, and create a client scenario to the mifi device.
I tried creating the setup, by creating a new bridge, then the virtual wifi sidd. The pulldown for the wireless client was ghosted, and not selectable.
So, I guess the big question is, is what I'm thinking a doable thing to do?
Any thoughts or hints would be great!
