I have successfully used SSH running on a PC remotely connected with Putty. I don't want to keep a PC running and thought I could do this with a router?
I have a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 with Tomato 1.28 installed. I want to connect this Buffalo to my home network which has its own established router and run it as a dedicated SSH server.
When I got it working with a PC, I went into the old router and port forwarded 22 to 192.168.1.250 and gave the PC a static IP of 192.168.1.250, can't figure out how to do this in Tomato and still log into it's interface? (had to do a 30/30/30 to get it back to 192.168.1.1)
Do I need to turn off all other functions of the Buffalo if I only want SSH?
Can this even be done? I'm a total noob and need hand holding along the way! Thanks,
