main router: e3000 using shibby v102 tomato-E3000USB-NVRAM60K-1.28.RT-MIPSR2-102-VPN.bin - ultrastable.
ap: e1000 using shibby v102 tomato-K26-1.28.RT-MIPSR2-102-mini.trx - ultrastable
wireless client bridges: 2 wrt150n, 1 wrt300n - running tomato-ND-1.28-102-vpn.trx - very stable
this has been the most stable config i've had in years. excellent throughput and no crashed for streaming video, gaming, printing, standard use.
i have reserved addresses for the wireless client lan interface so i can access the gui reliably.
but - the wireless clients bridges cant get time info from ntp unless i disable the dhcp reservations. the wired AP gets time correctly
i have set the default gateway and dns on the clients (and ap) to 192.168.1.1 (main router, in gateway mode)
all Ap and clients are in router mode with all NAT disabled.
'use wan port as lan' option checked yes
i know that i'm not understanding a basic point about router operation, but i thought that in AP or client mode, there is direct communication between the lan and wan and wireless interfaces. it seems the ntp client can connect via lan but not wireless interface.
does the ntp client load too early in the bootup sequence, before the client mode is detected?
thanks all in advance
