I've a Asus RT-N66U with this version of Tomato:
I want the router to be a PDC of my Windows Network using Samba. The firmware I've installed seems to has a quite old Samba on it:
/usr/sbin# /usr/sbin/smbd -V Version 3.0.37
I've seen in Optware packages a newer version with interesting improvements like SMB2 file serving:
ipkg list | grep samba36 samba36 - 3.6.7-1 - Samba suite provides file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients. This is a newer version. samba36-dev - 3.6.7-1 - development files for samba36 samba36-swat - 3.6.7-1 - the Samba Web Admin Tool for samba36
It is possible to install Samba 3.6? What will happen with Samba 3 that Tomato includes? How can I set it up?
I'm totally a newcomer to Tomato. Any help will be welcome.
