I want to access transmission web ui via internet. So, I need to setup ddns for my router. After I register an account from no-ip.com, I input information to my router. The router show my WAN internal ip which a bit strange to me. When I enter the host name on internet, well it won't work. I can't access my router.
I think the problem is my router behind the modem because if I log in no-ip.com by desktop, it got my ip and when I enter the host name I registered then web browser show my modem log in page.
the question is.. how to set a port forward to fix this issue?
I try to add port forward at my modem by add both www and https and redirect to my router internal LAN ip. —> it won't work
I try again by use the router internal WAN ip —> won't work again.
I still do not know how to set the port forward to make it work yet T_T please help.
BTW, my friend recommend me to set the modem from routing mode to bridge mode and use the router to dial the modem. In this way, router will take a control WAN by itself and should be able to connect through no-ip web site. (and hassle free about port forwarding)
Could anyone advise me which method is better? if the first method is better then please point me out what I did is incorrect.
