I was wondering now that there has been firmware for the Asus RT-N12 B1 for a while I like to know which firmware is a safe bet of the present newest version from Shibby and Toastman?
I realize there this router has no usb so I know to chose one of them but I see some generic one with NVram 32k and 64k and some without nvram indicated.
Right now I am operating with Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-101 K26 Max and it seems fine but there is no CPU usage indication in the web gui page called overview.
I was looking on the Toastman firmware and I see for example tomato-K26-1.28.0500.5MIPSR2Toastman-RT-N-VLAN-VPN
then I see one like tomato-K26-NVRAM64K-1.28.0500.5MIPSR2Toastman-RT-N-VLAN-VPN
So which one is good for this router? Proven and just fully works. The features I like to have if I do use them is VLAN, VPN and the logging of data used for each device. I know what I have now is Max I probably wont ever use some of the features but if its available I just like having it there but if it cause an issue just having a features that are not active then please do tell me to just use the standard version too. I just like some pointers or best practices.
Now with my WL-520GU. There use to be more of a choices with firmware on this router but the latest ones seems to be to close or over the 4 meg of the ram that I don't think I can use. So what is the lastest one I should use on this one. Where is the variety that we once use to have under 4 meg?
Thank you in advance for all replies.
