I am a bit of a tomato/linux noob.
Goal: Use tomatousb with Optware to share a USB hard drive connected to my Belkin N300 Share Max F7D7301
Have tomatousb installed (
have usb flash thumbdrive connected and mounted as /opt
Can ping the router (configured as a bridge), connected to router via ethernet cable and can browse the web.
Can telnet to the router and login
Not so good:
When I try the command "wget h t t p:// tomato usb .org/local—files…", I get [Note: spaces added to the link as I am a "low-karma user"] :
wget: bad address 'tomatousb.org'
So, I figure I have a DNS problem.
So, I modify command to "wget h t t p : // 126.96.36.199 /local—files…", I get:
Connecting to 188.8.131.52 (184.108.40.206:80)
wget: can't connect to remote host (220.127.116.11): No route to host
So, I figure I go back to basics and try to ping my gateway:
ping 18.104.22.168, and get:
PING 192.168.1.254 (192.168.1.254): 56 data bytes
…aaaand nothing happens for about 5 minutes, so I ctrl-c and get:
- 192.168.1.254 ping statistics -
380 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
Conclusion: I don't have a net connection from within telnet on my router running tomatousb. I must have some configuration problem within the router that is preventing any connection to the outside, even though I can ping and surf the internet from a computer connected to the Belkin router.
So, I'm probably missing something obvious. I've searched around both tomatousb and the intarwebs, but found nothing that would seem to help.
Any pointers? I'd appreciate any links or suggestions.
