I recently got an Asus RT-N16 and things have been going very well until now. I am running Shibby's "Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-100 K26 USB AIO". I have used the modules from extras-mips2.tar.gz. There are no errors returned when I modprobe them and they show up OK in dmesg and with lsmod.

When I plug in my FTDI FT232RL-based USB to serial adapter, it is not recognized in dmesg, nor is a new entry created in /dev.
root@unknown:/opt/extras# ls /dev/tt*
/dev/tty /dev/ttyp1 /dev/ttyp5 /dev/ttyp9 /dev/ttypd
/dev/ttyS0 /dev/ttyp2 /dev/ttyp6 /dev/ttypa /dev/ttype
/dev/ttyS1 /dev/ttyp3 /dev/ttyp7 /dev/ttypb /dev/ttypf
/dev/ttyp0 /dev/ttyp4 /dev/ttyp8 /dev/ttypc
When I plug in the adapter, the lights come on and stay on, rather than going out again when I plug them into my laptop. Nothing new shows up in dmesg. "cat /proc/bus/usb/devices" shows no sign of the adapter, but my USB stick shows up fine. USB mass storage to that stick all works fine.
I have searched around and can't find a clue to my problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
