I have an Asus WL-520gu router. I have installed Tomato USB, and connected my external hard drive to the usb port. I am currently able to access the hard drive from all of my network-connected computers. However, I am not able to access this hard drive from my Playstation 3 system. I have tried many versions of the Tomato firmware (TeddyBearm Shibby, Victek, Toastman, Teaman, and both k24 and k26lite varieties), but I am still unable to view the hard drive on the PS3. After many hours of research, it appears that I may have to install Optware onto the router, which will then enable me to install MiniDLNA. The problem is, I am kind of a newbie to this level of configuration, and I have no idea how to do this. All of the instructions I've been able to find have either been incredibly difficult to follow, or are meant for a router with bigger flash memory (mine only has 4mb). I know this can be done on the WL-520gu, since other people have done it before. I would appreciate your help in installing Optware and MiniDLNA, and eventually figuring out how to get my Playstation3 to recognize the hard drive connected to the router via USB.
P.S. Sorry for the duplicate post; was not sure if I was supposed to post this here or in the General Questions section so decided to play it safe and do both.
Thank you for your invaluable contribution. Hiding behind a guest account makes you look like a worthless bowl of anus pus. If this is all you do on this forum, you should go dig a hole for yourself, take a nice steaming crap in it, then stay there for as long as possible.
