Still learning with Tomato… I have an linksys AM200 modem and an Asus RT-N16 router. Which setting is best, what are the benefits?
1 - modem bridged and router deals with PPPoE connection and DHCP
2 - modem deals with PPPoE connection half bridged and router DHCP only
Or doesnt it really matter?
ISP uses PPPoE and first option works well but have read elsewhere that the second option may be best, usually discussed around PPPoA. Both work but with the second one the router seems to lose connection when the lease from the modem is renewed. There is likely some settings that I havent checked.
If the first option is ok I will stick with that.
