A couple of days ago much needed rain came with a vengeance. Lightning hit our cable box and ruined the ethernet port on my surfboard modem plus it burned something in the asus rt n16 router. I loved the router. I had toastman's tomato usb on it and it worked beautifully. I hoped it was not ruined but after trying to restore it (unsucessfully) I noticed a faint burnt smell coming from it and knew it was hopeless. I have ordered a new asus, the same model, from Newegg. Just happy to be able to find this model to purchase again. Hopefully it will not take too long to get here. Is there anyway I could repair the old one myself? I imagine not. I will open it soon to see if I see anything obvious.
I really like Toastman's tomatousb. The one I was using is over a year old now. Does anyone have any tomatousb firmware suggestions for this asus rt-n16 model? I do use the usb port for printing. It worked great. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
