I have an issue with incredibly slow throughput in my WDS setup. I really hope the community can provide some feedback - it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running the latest Shibby versions on an RT-N16 (host/primary: v97 AIO build) and linksys E2000 (client/secondary: E2000 v97 MAX build). I set them up as follows:
Common to Both:
Wireless Mode: Access Point + WDS
Wireless Network Mode: Auto
Security WPA2 Personal + AES
Same SSID, Channel, key, etc.; MAC addresses entered for each other
The E2000 (secondary) is configured with WAN disabled, STP disabled (on both), IP set to 192.168.1.2, DHCP disabled, Gateway and Static DNS to 192.168.1.1 (primary router IP)
They are connected to each other…right now, I'm connected to the primary router - I have a fast external/internet connection and I can easily access the client router at 192.168.1.2. Computer to primary tx/rx=130/130. The secondary router also appears to have a fast connection to the primary - bounces around a little, but usually tx/rx=130/130.
Then, other devices connected to the secondary have tx speed <10 (when looking at device list on secondary). They are all fairly close to the secondary router - so distance is not the issue. They have super-slow internet/external connections and file transfers from devices connected on one to devices on the other are generally <1mbps.
Any advice on settings to fix this? I use predominantly n devices, but also have 1 or 2 g devices - hence the decision to go with 'auto'. I played around with others though and it didn't matter.
