Hello,
I have a few questions regarding the USB printer functionality of the tomato firmware. My setup includes a NETGEAR WNR3500L-100NAR wireless router that I flashed with a Toastman firmware, specifically -
tomato-K26USB-1.28.7496.1MIPSR2-Toastman-RT-Ext
I'm running Win7(x64) OS and my printer is an All-in-One HP Photosmart C5200 series. My printer does show up in the "attached devices" list. I already set windows to print on the TCP/IP, 192.168.1.1, port 9100, Raw.
The settings that settings that are checked on Tomato for "USB and NAS" are -
Core USB Support
USB 2.0 Support
USB 1.1 Support OHCI UHCI
USB Printer Support
Bidirectional copying
USB Storage Support
File Systems Support
Ext2 / Ext3 NTFS FAT HFS HFS+
Automount Automatically mount all partitions to sub-directories in /mnt.
USB 3G Modem support
Before disconnecting 3G Modem from USB port, remember to uncheck this box first. If your modem uses the usbserial module, you may have to reboot your router before plugging/unplugging the modem.
1st question -
Having only connected my printer directly to the router through USB, will I still be able to make use of the printer's scanner capabilities through HP software?
2nd question -
While the printer does print, it is enormously slow. Is this normal? Windows takes very long to communicate with the printer but eventually does and prints out the document. This varies depending on what I'm printing, notepad prints are normal speed but images are painfully slow.
