I have an E3000, with "Tomato Firmware v1.28.0499 MIPSR2Toastman-VLAN-RT-N K26 USB VPN-NOCAT" installed on it. My ISP is cablevision and I get 50mbps down and 8mbps up.
I have a lot of people living in my house. There are two windows 7 wirelessN laptops, a windows vista wirelessN desktop, a windows vista wirelessG laptop, two dual band wirelessN Macbooks with OSX Lion, a HP wirelssG printer, a trendnet wirelessN ethernet bridge. An iPhone 4S, an Ipad 2, two ps3's, and a PSP….. Also, there is a powerline av 200mbps setup connecting to a panasonic IPTV.
All of the wirelessG devices connect to a wrt54g-v8 with ddwrt micro-plus version 18946M. The wrt54g-v8 is setup as an access point/ethernet switch/dhcp forwarder. The E3000 is set to wireless N only, with green field on both bands. Both are set to WPA2 AES only. There is also a 6to4 hurricane electric ipv6 tunnel on the E3000.
Here is the actual problem—
Everything except for the two macbooks are fast as hell. Netflix on the IPTV, PSN, browsing on the windows computers. Even the "iDevices" work great. But the two macbooks are so slow.
I get page timeouts, sometimes they dont load completely. The Itunes store wont load, but will on the windows computers. I cant update the laptops because they cant connect to the apple update server. Its just a mess.
I cant figure out why the router isin't playing nice with OSX.
I'm not sure if this is any help, but my cable modem info page says there are two connections on the ethernet port, one dynamic and one static. But only the E3000 is connected to it.
Can anyone help me?
