I would very much like to replace the dd-wrt install I'm using for e3000 hotspots with Tomato. This requires two things - OpenVPN (client) & Chillispot, preferably a recent version. I think Coovachilli is probably a better, more recent fork of Chillispot, but I haven't tested it. The most important aspect is stability and reliability. The dd-wrt version I'm using requires daily reboots and even then if it gets a number of logins, Chillispot tends to stop working. In some cases where I'm using this as a gateway in conjunction with other DHCP bridged routers (which ARE running Tomato), Chillispot needs to support up to a /21 of DHCP clients.
My business is willing to sponsor this kind of development if someone is willing to do it. Email me if you have interest.
