Good morning Ladies and Gents!
forgive the ignorance, I am a total noob to tomato, however I have heard a lot about it and thought I would give it a go this weekend. Several coworkers of mine (we do IT) suggested it as a solution to a problem I had.
So I did a lot of reading and started with the dd-wrt flash on my WNR2000v2 router. the DD-WRT worked perfectly using dd-wrt.v24-15962_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-WNR2000v2.chk.
I did the hard reset (press reset, count for 30 sec, unplug for 30 sec, plug in power for another 30 sec, release reset) and it powered up perfectly. I waited about 10 minutes for it to settle down, then logged into the router. It prompted me to change my login info, which i did. As an IT administrator by trade I have adopted the habbit of writing login/password info on an outlook memo, or notepad if I am not near my email. I created a new .txt with user/password then flashed it to tomato-K26-1.28.9054MIPSR2-beta-Mini.trx
That seems to have worked, however when I try to logon, it fails authentication. I copied/pasted that info, so I know its correct. I tried everything I could think of, then tried resetting the router thinking this would wipe the security info. It didnt work, and I noticed the router is broadcasting an SSID of 'DD-WRT' did this mean the tomato failed, and if not, how to I continue? short of launching a brute-force attack, I dont know how to get back into the router.
I've searched and only come up with a few posts that relate, none that helped. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
