Hi, I would like to know how I can set up the following configuration if it is possible in the first place. I am looking at 2 wifi networks from one fibre modem. Both wifi networks are intended to be separate.
Modem > Apple Extreme (Router 1) > Wifi for Apple Express Wifi Extenders and client computers
Apple Extreme (Router 1) > ASUS RT-N16 with Tomato + SSH server + DynDNS + OpenVPN (Router 2) > Wifi for client computers
The first network is my ordinary network, which most of my home devices will use. The second network is for me to connect to when I want VPN services and to connect to from outside my home (hence SSH and DynDNS).
My biggest concern is how to link the two routers in terms of the mode the ASUS should use, and how to address a double NAT issue. My concern also extends to how DynDNS and OpenVPN can coexist or work on a second router behind an existing NAT router. I can put both routers side by side if a wired connection is ideal.
Any help on this will be much appreciated.
