I picked up an Asus RT-N16 router and wanted out TomatoUSB. I tried the method in the tutorial with no luck, and I tried about 20 times. Meanwhile I can flash DD-WRT in and out with no problem as well as the stock FW. Any suggestions on why this may be happening.

If you have DD-WRT on it, just use its GUI firmware upgrade to install tomato. Be sure and clear NVRAM. If you have a password problem after loading tomato, use the 30-30-30 method to clear it. If you do not know what that is, just google it.
Thanks, I will give that a try. I sure hope Tomato is better that DD-WRT… the performance on that FW is horrible!
I don't know if the performance problems is with all the e series because I have an e2000 and also the performance was horrible, switched to tomato and now it's great
I have tried DD-WRT with the WNDR3700, E3000, and RT-N16… and all of those have suffered in performance.
My RT-N16 works really well with Tomato-USB. I had to use it's recovery mode and the ASUS recovery utility to get the tomato firmware on it though.
I tried the recovery mode/utility but it would not work. No matter what I did it kept erroring out right away. When I used the same method to install DD-WRT, it worked on the first try.
