I'm using Tomato Firmware v1.28.7633 -Toastman-IPT-ND ND Std on a Belkin router.
It seems to be working great.
The question I have is, what are the Bandwidth and IP traffic #'s telling me?
According to IP Traffic, my wife's machine download almost 30GB and uploaded over 6GB so far this month (today is May 3, 2012).
According to Bandwidth, the WAN monthly bandwidth for 2012-04 was 1.44GB down and .11GB up (that is way low, I KNOW we did more than that). For 2012-05, it is showing 4.97GB down and .38GB up. Hard to say if those #'s are accurate.
Do these #'s make any sense?
Does IP traffic show everything the machine does on the network, regardless of whether it is WAN bound? I really only care about WAN bound stuff.
Is there a way to reset these counters and get them working correctly?
Any insight would be appreciated.
And I notice the unit is saving to RAM. So I guess a power cycle wipes all the data. When I told it to save to NVRAM, it told me frequent saving to NVRAM wasn't recommended. What is a good frequency if I want to preserve this data through power cycles, etc.? Any suggestions here would also be appreciated.
