I'm using the latest build (v1.28.7498 MIPSR2-Toastman-VLAN-RT K26 USB VPN), and I'm having an issue when connecting to the PPTP VPN Tunnel. I am able to connect to the VPN, but I am unable to use the router's IP address as the DNS settings, and unless I specify an external DNS server (such as OpenDNS), the clients can't resolve local or external hosts.
Since I can't post a screenshot, here is my PPTP Server Configuration:
Local IP Address/Netmask: 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0
Remote IP Address Range: 172.19.0.1 - 172.19.0.6 (6)
Broadcast Relay Mode: Both (I'm not sure what this does, so also any explanation here would be great as well)
DNS Servers: 0.0.0.0, 0.0.0.0
WINS Servers: 0.0.0.0, 0.0.0.0
I left the DNS servers field alone, because under Notes it says (if none are set, the router/local IP address should be used by VPN clients), and I took that as the PPTP server will pass along the router's IP as DNS to the VPN clients. Regardless, I have also tried to manually insert the router's IP here without any luck. Using OpenDNS's servers allows me to resolve external hosts (google, etc…) for web browsing, etc…, but not local hosts.
I want to be able to resolve both local hosts as well as external hosts over the PPTP VPN Tunnel. Can anyone point me in the right direction to getting this working?
