My original N16 router was good to me for about 9 months when it suddenly stopped turning on one day. I had to RMA the router and got a 2nd one.
I flashed to DDWRT-mini and then flashed to the tomato-K26USB-1.28.9054MIPSR2-beta-vpn3.6 version of tomato. However I forgot to wipe out the NVRAM. Right after flashing to tomato, i immediately started to set up the router to settings I normally set and everything worked fine. The next day it worked fine as well. then I went to work and when I came back home that day, the router stopped working. This is within a 2 day span. No lights turned on, when I try to plug in the power cable and connect the network cable to my laptop, it doesnt register that there is any signal in the network cable. Initially I thought I got a lemon of a replacement router and RMAed the 2nd router.
When the 3rd Asus RT-N16 router came, I did exactly the same as I did the second router, meaning I again forgot to erase the NVRAM upon flashing to tomato.
Literally the exact same thing happened, after about 2 days, I came home from work to find that the router is totally dead, no lights go on, network cable doesnt register a signal from the router.
I think this is caused from me not erasing the NVRAM, but is there any way to un-brick my router? I dont want to RMA this router again, as it took over a month to receive a replacement.
