I am looking to add the traffic per IP option available on the toastman firmware.
I bought a WRT610Nv2 especially for this purpose. With the stock Linksys and DDWRT firmware the WAN port DHCP works OK.
With toastman build:
the WAN port does not get an IP through DHCP
I see someone else has gotten the WRT601Nv2 to work:
from forum thread t-386946
From what I understand the E3000 and the WRT610Nv2 are very, very similar except for
"The WRT610-N V2.0 is based on the same hardware as the E3000 with a different CFE and nvram block. "
So in summary I think I may just be using the wrong firmware version, as someone else seems to have gotten it to work, but what firmware should I be using?
After 6 hours I have not found the answer!
Finally if a working version of toastman for my router is not available then I can go and buy an E3000. Can others confirm it works, or should I go for another type of unit. I would like dual band wireless, gigabit wired and toastman firmware, plus reliable performance.
Thanks in advance for all your efforts. If it wasn't for capped downloads by my ISP this would not be needed :(
