Hi,i installed tomato firmware with VPN support on my WRT54GL and it is working fine, however im having an issue with the WAN interface,my ISP renews my IP address after 1 hour thereby resulting in my vpn connection losing connection until i renew the WAN dhcp manually on the WRT54GL which is set to 3 days by default, who knows how i can edit the DHCP lease time on the WAN interface to just 3600 seconds???? ive been searching the file system for the DHCP cpnfig file without success, please help
the 3 day lease is what i see on the router's WAN interface, but my ISP's IP changes every hourso i neew to manually renew my dhcp lease to reconnect my openvpn,im thinking if its possible to set a cronjob that will automatically renew the dhcp after every hour but im yet to find the command for setting up cronjobs on tomato firmware
There's the scheduler with custom options in the Web Gui (under administration) - not too sure what "reconnect does", but a custom "dhcpc-renew" should do what you want.
There's also a script command "cru" to add Cron items.
I wonder if your ISP is just timing out as you put most traffic down the vpn, so an occasional ping of the isp gateway or dns server outside the tunnel would also work?
