I think it'd be a great idea to make it easier for people to find out about the mods. I imagine most will go do the downloads section and just pick from the aging builds available there. Why doesn't someone with sufficient admin access edit the Welcome page, and downloads page to educate newcomers of the choices that are available? Maybe just a list of currently maintained mods, and the urls where they can be downloaded.
Mods are really where tomato is at right now. When I originally came to tomato, I had no idea about tomatoUSB, and promptly went back to DD-WRT. The second time around I learned about tomatoUSB, but had no idea about the mods. The mods are what have really made tomatoUSB an enriching experience. If people happen to make it here to the mods section of the forum, it's so much to search through to get up to date on what there is available. While we're at it, visitors should be notified of the equally active forum at linksysinfo.org
I'm not sure who has administrative access, but I think this would help a lot. I imagine many just take a look at the latest release of the 'official builds' and assume tomato is an abandoned project. We should better advertise how active and vibrant the community still is.
