Rumor has it that the E4200 media server throughput on Tomato is less than stellar—at least compared to the stock FW. Is that so? How would I measure it? Anybody feels that their E4200 could have better media server throughput?
Changing over to EXT3 really improved my transfer rate. You can read a little about it in my thread—I had originally started the thread because I couldn't get MKV to play well through the media server; however, after reformatting to EXT3 (instead of NTFS) I am not having any transfer issues (sorry about the URL below but apparently i am not yet allowed to post links on this site, otherwise you can just search for the thread 'Problems Streaming MKV' currently on page 2):

My throughput is higher than stock with EXT3 with the drive that connects on USB 2. I was getting about 5 Mbps to the 4200 stock, and get about 7 Mbps with Tomato. I have a thread discussing disk performance as well, just do a search.
