I have the ASUS RT-N16 with TomatoUSB 1.28 on it. When I first flashed it, it was very fast and a million times better than my old router. I could stream 1080p youtube videos on 3 different computers at once and my ping to things like vetrilo never changed. The stream buffer was always moving faster than the playback.
Now when I try to stream 1080 videos it always has to buffer every few seconds. I have to let the video pre-load (sometimes for a very long time) before I can watch it. I am not sure if I changed some bandwidth allocation settings or something. This is wired connection by the way not wireless.
I tried connecting my modem directly to my computer and it streams fast like it should. I go to speedtest.net and the speeds with and without the router are the same at about 25 Mb/s. When I stream 1080p videos it does not make my ping go down in things like vent or in games, it seems like it is not using its full potential.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.
