I recently got a RT-N16 and now want to setup 2 separate networks, one using RT-N16 n-only (N1) and another using my old wrt54gl g-only (N2). All PCs will connect to the N1 (since all of them have n-capable adapters) and cell phones, ipads and guests will connect to N2.
I connected the RT-N16 to the cable modem and connected wrt54gl's WAN port to n16's lan port. I was assuming that n2 would be a entirely separate network in itself. However and I can access admin console on n16 from the 54gl's network.
Here is the setup
1. DHCP range of N16, 192.168.1.100-110
2. DHCP range of 54gl, 192.168.10.10-15
3. N16 has toastman tomato-K26USB-1.28.7495.3MIPSR2-Toastman-VLAN-RT-V PN
4. 54gl has the regular tomato firmware tomato_1_28
Any suggestion how I can isolate the 2 networks?
Also, if anyone knows of any better setup to achieve my desired setup, I am welcome to suggestion.
