Just wondered if this is normal behaviour or if it is not normal behaviour if anyone has a fix for it.
I'm running a WRT54GL on the latest K24 tomatoUSB build, bascially the setup I have is as follows:
I have a small NAS drive mounted via cifs1. I have the bandwidth (rstats) and IP Traffic (cstats) logs set to save to my NAS drive.
The router correctly creates the two necessary files in my NAS folder (checked from another machine).
I have the logs set to save every hour (it will be less frequent but for troubleshooting purposes I set it frequent).
Instead of updating the original file it instead creates an rstats.gz.tmp file instead (the same happens if I tick save on shutdown too)
The original rstats.gz file remains un-updated since its creation date (checked by file properties in windows) but the .tmp file updates every hour.
When I reboot the router I loose the entire bandwidth log history, it resets back to 0.00GB. rstats is running and functioning. If I rename the rstats.gz.tmp file and remove the .tmp extension it finds the old data correctly. I have even waited a week between rebooting and the original rstats.gz file is never updated.
Is this normal behaviour?
To troubleshoot the NAS I tried moving the log to the NAS temporarily to make sure it could update the file without creating a .tmp duplicate. It worked just fine and the logfile.txt updated properly when it needed to.
Anyone have any ideas to sort this out, I may have to use FTP instead of cifs, but I'd really prefer not to.
If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
