With my laptop and a DIR-655 in 40MHz mode on 2.4GHz,
I get about 2-3x actual wireless transfer speed vs using 20MHz mode.
Upgraded to an e4200 v1,
out of the box its default firmware when set to 40MHz,
fell back to 20MHz. I read the router/firmware does that if it detects interference.
So I installed Tomato v1.28.0494 MIPSR2-Toastman-RT-N K26 USB Ext to override the fallback.
Set it to 2.4Ghz n mode,
with forced 40Mhz and WMM on ,
but inSSIDer still shows only a 20MHz channel is created.
Should Tomato be able to force 2.4GHz 40MHz mode on the e4200,
or is the 20MHz fallback at the hardware level and Tomato can not override it?
