I'm trying to mount a remote drive using CIFS and keep getting the following:
Jan 8 15:27:15 unknown user.err kernel: CIFS VFS: Error connecting to IPv4 socket. Aborting operation
Jan 8 15:27:15 unknown user.err kernel: CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -145
When I google the 145 error I get a grand total of 3 links…all of which I've researched. When I try to mount it manually from the command line, it times out:
root@unknown:/# mount -t cifs //126.96.36.199/malekb /cifs1 -o username=malekb,password=*
mount error(145): Connection timed out
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)
mount: mounting //188.8.131.52/malekb on /cifs1 failed: Connection timed out
Other things I've tried:
- used servername instead of ip address
- various older versions of tomato
- upgraded to the latest samba optware package (3.2.15-4)
- mounting via an fstab entry
I'm running v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta K26 USB vpn3.6 with openvpn running.
I'm about out of ideas and would appreciate any thoughts folks have on this.
