My router is a WNR3500L. I use PuTTY to connect to my router via SSH from a remote location and a SSH tunnel to forward localport 3128 to 192.168.0.1:3128. I then have Firefox portable setup to use a proxy localhost:3128. But every few minutes everything will freeze for a good minute or so then start working again. Also any remote desktop I have running at the time will also freeze. I am not sure if it is a squid config issue or my thumb drive is being a bottleneck somehow. I typically see ~15MB of memory free (25%) and ~250MB of swap free (50%). I know squid can do way more than what I am using it for so I am wondering if it is causing my issues and I need to tweak the config or should try a different proxy or is it the flash drive?
