I usually set up full block on both TCP and UDP ports in a range of 10000-65534. It is usually scheduled between 7 am and 11 pm. The aim is to limit the torrent usage in a shared house, but allow all the usual software to reach the net.
It works in general, most of the tenants have no clue what are the ports for.
I couldn't figure out how to set up the rule on tomatousb. I'm still new to tomatousb firmware, but I have some experience on dd-wrt and Gargoyle/open-wrt and a range of stock firmwares.
I could set up the rules on any firmware (so far) but on tomatousb.
I ask your help how to set access restriction to both TCP/UDP ports from 10000 - 65534.
I've tried the following:
TCD/UDP , Src Port, 10000-65534, IPP2P (disabled), Layer 7 (Disabled), Any address
If I enable the rule everything goes offline, even the Internet browser loose the connection to the internet. I played around the detailes of the rule without success.
please, any idea?
